Our History



Rhens Consulting (‘Rhens’) is a registered, 100% black, woman-owned EME that offers TRAINING, RECRUITMENT, HR PROJECTS and services to their clients in the public, private and informal sectors. The Rhens business model is underpinned by a high regard for compliance to corporate governance principles supported by their SETA accreditation as a Training Provider and their Recruitment Agency membership and registration with APSO.

Rhens Consulting CC was registered in 2010 as an HR ‘consultancy’ in response to small business owners’ need for professional, HR advice which Rhens provided, often on a pro-bono basis due to her enthusiasm for HR and the visible impact seen in how people develop due to her mentorship and guidance. Out of this experience grew Rhens’ vision train, upskill and develop the ‘careers’ of others/

At Rhens the definition of ‘career’ is any path-of-work that individuals invests in to develop their skill capabilities, whether artisanal or academic, whether formally employed or operating as a self-employed Entrepreneur.

Rhens rebranded to Rhens Consulting (Pty) Ltd in 2015 at which time the company commenced operating as a fully functional professional HR services company with retainer Clients primarily in the FinTec, Education (ECD), ICT, Retail, Cleaning, Recycling, Media, Medical sectors.

Rhens’ Unique Value Proposition is attributed to the founder’s 25 years corporate HR experience coupled with advisory networks and project teams’ with deep-rooted understanding of the global and local political, socio-economic, education, health, medical, land reform, academia’ landscape.

Rhens’ cross-integrated capability is expertly weaved into and through its unique business model signified by their:

Rhens’ relevance and applicability is made possible with the support of their highly trained facilitators, specialists, experts and contributors who are skilled in (no particular order) : training, SETA accreditations, facilitation, strategic level transformation, change management, OD processes, assessing, moderating, research methodology, headhunting, project management, feasibility studies, sales and marketing, operational, political and financial analysis and forecasting, water and sanitation, marine bunkering, freight, medical technology, medical distribution, budgeting, record-keeping, audits, controls, corporate governance.

Rene Hendricks, the owner and founder was born and raised on the Cape Flats in the Western Cape. She has over 25 years human resources experience having worked as an HR Business Practitioner up to senior, EXCO level at listed and unlisted companies. Her corporate experience covers many industries in which she has a track-record of contributing to the repositioning of HR as a future-focussed transformation division and not just a cost centre, having worked in often highly competitive environments’ for companies like Southern Life, Virgin Active, Clicks, Netcare, Primedia where she is reputably remembered as a flexible, change and solutions-oriented strategic business partner. Her HR background and experience working with corporates, the disabled and entrepreneurs in formal and informal sectors have contributed to HR contracts and projects linked to Rhens’ target markets and the HR Divisions on which the business is modelled.
